Professor Martin M. Gruber, Stern School of Business, NYU (Group Chairman)
Martin J. Gruber is Professor Emeritus of Finance and Scholar in Residence at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business New York University. He is a director and member of the executive committee and the investment committee of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a Past President of the American Finance Association and a Fellow of the American Finance Association, Financial Management Association and Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance. Professor Gruber is a director of the Daiwa Closed End Funds and has been a Director of DWS Mutual Funds, SGCowen Mutual Funds, TIAA-CREF. He has published six books and over 100 articles on investment analysis and portfolio management. Professor Gruber holds an S.B. degree and Chemical Engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in Finance and Economics from Columbia University. He was also awarded the degree of Docteur ‘honoris causa’ by the University of Liege, Belgium.
Professor Massimo Massa, INSEAD
Massimo Massa is the Rothschild Chair Professor of Banking and Finance at INSEAD, where he teaches international finance, corporate finance, information financial economics and behavioural finance in MBA, Ph.D. and Executive programmes. He has obtained an MBA from the Yale School of Management and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Yale University. His research interests include portfolio theory, theory of information in financial markets, behavioural finance, market microstructure and mutual funds. His articles have been published in academic journals such as the ‘Review of Financial Studies’, ‘Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics’, ‘Journal of Business’, ‘Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis’, ‘Journal of Financial Markets’, ‘Review of Finance’, and ‘European Journal of Financial Management’. Massimo Massa has previously worked in the Bank of Italy in its Banking Division (1989–1992) and in the Research Department of its Monetary and Financial Markets Division (1993–1997).
Merele A. May, Senior VP Investment Operations, American Century Investments
Merele A. May is Senior Vice President of Investment Operations at American Century Investments. He leads a department that has responsibility for mutual fund accounting, institutional accounting, investment reporting, financial reporting, data management and custody operations. He is a member of the company’s senior leadership team and has served as Controller responsible for all aspects of accounting related to 1940 Act mutual funds. Prior to joining American Century in 1987, he was an Audit Senior with Arthur Young & Co., working extensively with mutual fund, banking, and government clients. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Graduating with an MBA in Finance from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in 1992, he has held various senior positions including Risk Man¬ager and Head of Middle Office at Nordea Markets, Consultant and Manager at KPMG Financial Services and Head of Back Office at Danish pension fund ATP.
Brian S. Jensen, Head of Business Processes, Nordea Savings & Asset Management
Brian Stougaard Jensen is acting head of Business Processes and Business Development at Nordea Savings & Asset Management. He has been one of the central architects behind S&AM's global and integrated production platform that has been developed and implemented since Nordea was founded. Brian has held various senior positions at both Nordea Markets and Nordea Savings & Asset Management since 1992 - with main focus on building up- or "on-boarding" new business areas as well as product engineering.
Peter Hertel, Domain Manager - Fund Accounting, SimCorp
Peter Hertel is Domain Manager for Fund Accounting at SimCorp. He received his Master of Science degree in Economics at Copenhagen University. Joining SimCorp in 1988, he has over the years been involved in development, sales, support, project management, implementation, including internal and external training. He has over the last 10 years taken an expert role in respect to the implementation of IFRS at clients in Germany, Luxembourg, Holland, Finland, Denmark and Norway. Over the last five years, Peter Hertel has been heavily involved in implementing SimCorp Dimension fund accounting functionality in Luxembourg, Finland and Denmark, the last three years as the global head of the Fund Accounting domain in SimCorp’s Strategic Research department. As Fund Accounting Domain Manager, he has worked on enhancing the global support for complex fund structures and multiple tax regimes with a focus on optimising daily workflows in a cost-efficient way, in order to enable clients to achieve growth, while mitigating risk.
Bernard Delbecque, Director of Research and Economics, EFAMA - European Fund and Asset Management Association
Bernard Delbecque is Director of Economics and Research at European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), Brussels, Belgium. He is responsible for monitoring industry and market trends. This involves gathering and analyzing data on the European fund industry, preparing the monthly and quarterly statistical releases from EFAMA, and producing the EFAMA Fact Book. Mr. Delbecque is also responsible for supporting EFAMA's activities in the area of pension and industry standards. In this capacity, he is in charge of the activities of EFAMA concerning the European Fund Classification, the Fund Processing Passport, and the standardisation of fund processing in general. Bernard Delbecque holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and a teaching position at the Catholic University of Louvain.
