Professor Massimo Massa, INSEAD (Group Chairman)

Massimo Massa is the Rothschild Chair Professor of Banking and Finance at INSEAD, where he teaches international finance, corporate finance, information financial economics and behavioural finance in MBA, Ph.D. and Executive programmes. He has obtained an MBA from the Yale School of Management and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Yale University. His research interests include portfolio theory, theory of information in financial markets, behavioural finance, market microstructure and mutual funds. His articles have been published in academic journals such as the ‘Review of Financial Studies’, ‘Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics’, ‘Journal of Business’, ‘Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis’, ‘Journal of Financial Markets’, ‘Review of Finance’, and ‘European Journal of Financial Management’. Massimo Massa has previously worked in the Bank of Italy in its Banking Division (1989–1992) and in the Research Department of its Monetary and Financial Markets Division (1993–1997).

Anthony Neuberger, Professor, Warwick University

Anthony Neuberger is Head of the Finance Group at Warwick Business School, which he joined in 2004. He was previously an Associate Professor in Finance at the London Business School. He has held visiting positions at Boston University, University of Antwerp, and MIT. He received his Ph.D. in Financial Economics from London Business School, having done an MBA there, and an MA in Mathematics and Philosophy at Cambridge University. Prior to becoming an academic, he worked for ten years for the UK Government in the Cabinet Office, and the Department of Energy. His research has been in the area of pensions, the structure of financial markets and financial derivatives. In the area of pensions policy he has published papers on pension regulation, savings behaviour and pension protection schemes. He has also  consulted for the Department of Work and Pensions, the Pension Protection  Fund, and has acted as a Special Adviser to the House of Commons Select Committee on Work and Pensions.

Ingo Walter, Professor, Director SimCorp StrategyLab, Stern School of Business, NYU

Professor Ingo Walter holds the Seymour Milstein Professorship of Finance, Corpo¬rate Governance and Ethics and serves as the Vice Dean of Faculty at the Stern School of Business, New York University. He has had visiting professorial appointments at the Free University of Berlin, University of Mannheim, University of Zurich, University of Basel, the Institute for Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore, and various other academic and research institutions. He also held a joint appointment as Professor of International Management from 1986 to 2005 and remains a Visiting Professor at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. Ingo Walter’s principal areas of academic and consulting activity include international trade policy, international banking, environmental economics, and economics of multinational corporate operations. He has published papers in various professional journals in these fields and is the author, co-author or editor of 26 books. In addition to his position as a director of SimCorp StrategyLab, Professor Walter has served as a consultant to various corporations, banks, government agencies and international institutions, and has held a number of board memberships.

Marc van den Berg, COO, PGGM

Marc van den Berg started his career at KPMG as a consultant in the field of Business and IT Strategy. He became partner in 1998 with a focus on the Financial Sector. In 2005 he joined PGGM Business Development & Innovation and was in 2006 appointed Chief Operations Officer for PGGM Investments. He played a major role in the transformation of PGGM from a pension fund to a service provider with a prominent position in the industry managing more than 100 billion assets under management. Marc van den Berg holds a MBA.

Arne E. Jørgensen, Domain Manager - Accounting, SimCorp Group

Arne E. Jørgensen is Domain Manager for Accounting at SimCorp. He holds an M.Sc. in engineering and a Diploma in fi¬nance. Prior to joining SimCorp in 1988, he worked with IT development at Copenha¬gen Handelsbank (now part of Danske Bank), and before that at the Danish con¬sulting engineering company Carl Bro. Arne Jørgensen has a wide experience with pension and insurance fund issues. At Copenhagen Handelsbank, he analysed and implemented the previous Danish pension tax law in the bank’s formation/analysis system used for advising customers on pension savings. At SimCorp, he has headed SimCorp’s delivery to Hannover Rückversicherung of a bespoke investment management system, and working with insurance and pension clients like Codan, Storebrand and KP, he has combined business knowledge and IT knowledge. He has also gained a wide understanding of the area from three working with prospective and existing clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, e.g. MEAG, Allianz Global Investors, Swiss Life and Uniqa.

Jacob Elsborg, Head of Technology, ATP Investment Area

Jacob Elsborg is Head of Technology for ATP’s investment department and holds a master’s degree in economics and mathematics from the Copenhagen Business School and an MBA from the Henley Management College in the UK. Most of his professional life he has worked in the financial industry, starting his career as an IT economist for Danmarks Nationalbank, the central bank of Denmark, from 1995 until 2000. For the last ten years he has worked for ATP, a statutory pension fund covering 4.6 million members – virtually the entire adult population of Denmark. As Head of Technology, Jacob Elsborg is responsible for the development of the ATP investment department’s operational platform.

Dr. Annukka Paloheimo, CEO, Scandinavian Financial Research

Annukka Paloheimo, born in 1956, holds a Ph.D. in International Business from New York University, Stern School of Business and a M.Sc. in Economics from Helsinki School of Economics. She is a Managing Director and Founding Partner of Scandinavian Financial Research (SFR) Ltd. Established in 1991, this research company specialises in strategic and competitive market analysis of the institutional investor market and corporate banking. SFR assists the top management of major banks, asset management and mutual funds companies in Scandinavia. Before joining SFR, Annukka was an internal consultant on competitive banking market analysis for a major Finnish bank, Kansallis Bank (now part of Nordea).

Dr. Frank Wellhöfer, COO, MEAG MUNICH ERGO Asset Management GmbH

Dr. Frank Wellhöfer is Managing Director at MEAG MUNICH ERGO AssetManagement GmbH. After studying business management and finishing his doctorate in Würzburg, Dr. Frank Wellhöfer began his professional career in 1992 at the chartered accountants Ernst & Young, before moving to Oppenheim Kapitalanlagegesellschaft. In 1999, Wellhöfer hired on at Generali Investments Deutschland Kapitalanlagegesellschaft, where he was in charge of the Risk Management, Back Office and Information Technology units, ultimately as Managing Director. Since 1 October 2009, Dr. Wellhöfer has been responsible for the Investment Controlling, Back Office and Information Technology divisions in his capacity as Managing Director at MEAG.
